It is generally accepted that feral fluffies began surviving and multiplying in the wild after the raid by PETA. They are often classified as vermin due to their breeding rates. Ferals are more hardened than domestic fluffies, quite literally where their hooves are concerned, as calluses develop on them, making them harder. They have learned to fear humans, as humans will often kill them, either in the name of pest control or just because they feel like it. Some understand the concept of death in the place of "forever sleepies", and will use the correct word.

Herds Edit

While lone fluffies or breeding pairs exist, most feral fluffies choose to organize herds for survival. The size of a herd can vary, but the roles usually remain the same.

Smarty Friend Edit

The smarty friend of a herd is the leader, and the smarty's word is law among the herd. Smarty friends are not to be confused with fluffies with Smarty Syndrome, although their behavior can be quite similar, as it is not uncommon for smarty friends to become drunk with power and make the herd do everything for them. They will mate with whichever fluffy they want, including mares, stallions, and even foals, referred to as "enfie babies". Due to their dominant nature, unicorns are most likely to become smarty friends.

Toughie Friend Edit

The toughie friends of the herd are the smarty's enforcers. They make sure that the smarty friend's rules are being followed, and are taught by the smarty. A herd with a tyrannical smarty friend is almost guaranteed to have equally tyrannical toughie friends, and punishment by death may become normal and expected. Toughie friends tend to be earthies, as their physical strength is useful in fights with other herds, and their low intelligence makes it easy to convince them to do whatever the smarty wants.

Nummie-Finder Edit

Nummie-finders find food to bring back to the herd. A herd living in an area where food is particularly plentiful may not have a need for nummie-finders. Due to their speed, pegasi make ideal nummie-finders.

Environmental Impact Edit

Feral herds eat anything they can find. This includes grass, trash, and crops. They can and will destroy farms, and fluffy feces and corpses litter the ground wherever they've been. They are very much a pest, as well as a threat to the environment.
